Speed description information:
1. Use SATA3.0 data cable to achieve the best results.
(We recommend using this SATA 3.0 card in the PCIE3.0 slot to get the fastest speed.)
2. PCI-E requires a slot above V2.0. For V1.0, the speed will not exceed 250M.
3. Motherboard BOIS setting: SATA mode should be changed to AHCI.
Although some motherboards are PCIE 2.0 version, BOIS does not enable gen2 high-speed mode by default and needs to be turned on manually.
The fastest speed of PCI-E 2.0 is 380-450 m/s.
Different computer configurations and SATA SSDs have different speeds.

    I had this device for a few years and it always very good. It was fast (PCIE 4.0 helped a lot), safe and reliable.
    Then I bought a new PC in july 2023. It was a brand new gaming desktop I built myself with a ASRock X670e steel legend motherboard. So, when I was still building it I decided to boot my system for the first time and it wouldn’t post. I thought it was some bad connection, maybe a dead GPU (please, no!). Then, after several hours banging my head I decided to remove this device, and then the system posted like nothing ever happened. I searched online for some people who perhaps had a similar issue, but nothing really concrete came up. Since then I’ve been weary of using this device again, and I could really use a few extra sata ports. I have 6 HDDs but my mobo has only 4 ports (my bad on the choice, I guess).
    So be mindful, if you have an older PC like I did before, then this device is amazing. But if you’re using a brand new PC with DDR5 gen gear on it, you may want to research compatibility with your motherboard first.

    Surprisingly, a fast disc connected to this expansion card was still faster than older and slower discs connected to my old motherboard.
    This card only has a PCI-E x1 interface. Perhaps it would be faster if it had a PCI-E x3 interface. I don’t know but I was happy with the speed anyway. I connect 5 discs to this 8 port card and it is fine. My thinking was that perhaps if the card could support 8 discs, it should be faster than a card which was at its maximum capacity with only 5 discs. It also has an ice-blue led when the discs are accessed. I’m very happy with it. It worked straight out of the box with Linux Open Suse and no drivers required.

    Added this to an old acer veriton desktop with a meek little core i3 and 8gb or ram.
    This is in tandem with a icydock 6 bay 5.25 drive bay hot swap for 2.5 inch drives. (x2)
    it works perfectly and was recognized without any issues.
    I bought this to build a simple at home diy nas that would use some old parts I had laying around.
    I have over 20 1tb laptop drives laying about (I work in IT) and this managed to use all of them without issue. Note: I managed to run truenas health diagnostics on all of them and it found 2 dead drives. Then I replaced with good drives and all was perfect.
    I will say that while my solution is nice for reusing old parts, it isn’t the most cost effective solution out there.
    If you are looking to do a diy nas without anything to start with i.e. old desktop and drives, then I recommend buying an old server tower or something with all of this built in from ebay, you can find really good deals on old hardware that will work much better since it removes the guess work out of building from scratch.

    Initially, I thought there was an issue because sometimes the hard drives would disconnect. However, after talking with the seller they were able to figure out my issue immediately with almost no information. I was very surprised by their knowledge! For anyone connecting a bunch of hard drives together, make sure they have adequate power, I had connected multiple power splitters together and this resulted in the voltage to the drives being too low. The product works great and I was very impressed by the knowledge of the seller.

    Works in my Windows 2016 Server Store Pool. Switched out my old SATA card with this one and had no hickups or issues. Didn’t know there’s a blue LED that lights for each HD that is plugged in, but I like it. There’s no other lights inside my server so this looks kinda cool when the room is dark.

    I ordered this Sata Controller cause i was combining certain parts from 2 computers into 1 case. I installed this sata card because i have 6 SSD drives and 2 HDD drives. I first installed it on my older FX-8350 8 core computer and It work flawlessly booted the computer up and it was recognized right away. Then i had to replace my MB and processor and memory and I installed it into the new computer and it worked right off the bat. This is a great little sata card for anyone that wants to add more drives to their computer.

    I use it with my UNRAID server and have few issues. The only problem I’ve notice is the card requires supplemental cooling. I had to point a fan directly at it to get the UMDA CRC errors to go away, im assuming the card was getting too warm. Even though there was decent air flow over it without the additional fan

    This controller doesn’t show up as bootable in my BIOS, but to be fair, it’s an ancient BIOS, so I would have been surprised if it had. Otherwise, works great, and is much faster than the built-in 3Gbps SATA controller.

    I knew what I was getting myself into what I bought. ASM1166 chipset that runs at PCIe 3.0 x2, which means it can run 6 hard drives at full speed and even at the time (Unless you got one of those multi-actuator hard drives). In my personal experience, its all awesome. Easy to install, great stability, good cables and a good price.

    Installed in a PCIe 4x slot on a Dell motherboard under Windows 10. Immediately recognized and drivers loaded from windows. Using the application Hotswap, it will allow me to rotate drives in and out of a drawer for backup. I would say this is an excellent choice for affordable SATA slots.

    This is a very simple install and it works really well. I wasn’t even sure what to do with it when I got it, but thankfully it just slid in to the pci slot, even though it is much smaller than the full pci slot I had available, and it reconciled it right away and I was able to format it and use it immediately. Very nice adapter card for nvme drive. I highly recommend this card.

    I needed to add more disk space in my media server. Ordered a card from a different company, only 3 of the ports worked so back it went. Ordered this one to give it a try. The shipping was fast, the packaging was good. It came with sata cables, power adapter to add 4 more sata power plugs( should come with 2). and driver disk(not needed) Swapped my 4 port card out, put this one in and buttoned it up. Put the server back in place and brought it up. Unraid saw all of the new drives and is working flawlessly. I would highly recommend this card to anyone that needs to expand your sata drive space.

    Well it took some time to figure out how to make this PCIe 4X SATA Card work in a Dell XPS 8940 using Windows 10.

    On a good note, the seller was very responsive trying to make the card work, but unfortunately their solutions did not work. Instead I leveraged the Dell forum. There were several responses directly from Dell support, but eventually another person (Ron) provided the solution.

    Here’s what you need to do to make this card work when the booting with RAID On.
    1) Open CMD prompt as administrator and paste ‘bcdedit /set {current} safeboot minimal’ and the PC will restart in Safe Mode.
    2) Change SATA Operation from RAID to AHCI, then save & reboot, which will start in Safe Mode.
    3) Open CMD prompt again and paste ‘bcdedit /deletevalue {current} safeboot’ to turn off Safe Mode.
    4) Reboot & Windows 10 will automatically start with AHCI drivers enabled.
    5) Shut down PC.
    6) Install PCIe 4X SATA Card and Reboot.

    Hopefully this solution will help others.

    UPDATE

    I HAD THE CARD INSTALLED IN AN ASUS Z170-P motherboard. There is a bug in that motherboard – PCIe cards are only detected properly in slot #4. When I moved the card to slot #4 the problem went away.

    I have 8 drives connected to this card and it works good. However, if I reboot my PC the drives do not come back online. I need to do a shutdown and then power back on to get the drives back. I reached out to the vendor and they sent me a couple of updates but they did not work. I am currently waiting for their reply to my email that I sent on Feb. 18th.

    Originally I was concerned by negative feedback to this and other similar SATA cards. Went with 6-ports PCIe 4x version. Installed to ASUS AT5IONT-I driven by Linux. Despite quick boot complaint about lack of memory, BIOS inits the device ROM and then ROM detects all connected drives plus indicates PCIe speed and generation. BIOS is able to see drives connected to this SATA card. hdparm -t gives 200Mb/sec for old Corsair GS SSD and max advertised speed for two WD HDD’s. SATA cables that come with device work well. SATA power cable providing 4 extra connectors was great surprise since old 120W PSU had only one SATA connector. I will update this review if anything goes wrong but so far for a week all works fine. Radiator on main chip is not hot but my environment is not heavily loaded.

    I have a need for controller cards as I run several Hard drives in my computer. They tend to not last long because the chip heatsink is too small. This card has a larger heatsink and seem to not be over heating. I could do without the led blue light but you might like that.

    Pros:
    – Small footprint with included low-profile bracket
    – Based on a common Marvel chip
    – PCI-E x1 (unlike other brands that are PCI-E x4)
    – 6-SATA III ports in 6Gbps
    – *No RAID support nor configuration, so no accidental disaster losing data.
    – When bought as a kit you get 6 SATA cables and power connector splitter, though the splitter is only for 4 disks.
    – I bought 2 and they work in harmony in the same system, holding together 10 disks (I put 5 disks on each card).

    Cons:
    – The power connector splitter that comes in the kit is for 4 disks, not 6. Two splitters of 3 ports each would have been better if included instead.

    *For me, not having RAID support is a positive thing. The SATA controllers which I replaced with these had a knob on their back which could be turned to set RAID modes or just to behave as an expansion. I didn’t like it since I always make backups manually and never use RAID, and I was always concerned that I’d accidentlely turn the knob and set a RAID mode and lose all my data. So if you’re like me and looking for a simple solution to expand the SATA ports of your motherboard you’d be very happy with this card. Just don’t forget to install the included driver (Marvell 9215).

    The device adds and extra boot screen before bios on startup and slows down the boot process by roughly 15 to 20 seconds. I don’t have my OS ssd hooked to it, that’s just a delay from some routine that detects what is connected to it is my guess. Otherwise no issues so far.

    I bought this because the Asus ROG STRIX Z-490-A had a dedicated PCIe-3 4x slot. Super easy to install. Window 10 Pro recognized it and installed drivers. I have it connected to a CoolGear internal to external eSATA 4 port PCI bracket to run external hard drives for backup that I bought at the same time. I’m getting over 1 Gbps transfer rate.
    Backups are now completed 2 to 3 times faster. The fact the card has six SATA-III 6Gbps outputs gives plenty of capacity to run additional hardware. Includes all the cables you need.

    Getting the drivers installed for Windows 10 64 bit was a little tricky, they did not install automatically, but once installed the card worked great. The only drawback is that for some reason sometimes a drive would work as a hot plug drive and sometime I have to reboot to read the drive, but overall it is a great product.

    All hard disks cannot be recognized without the driver, and all hard disks can be recognized after the driver is installed. The stability is very good. At present, there is no problem of disk dropping. After installing the driver, it is the same as the hard disk on the motherboard. There is no safe eject option, and the power-on self-check is very fast.

　まあ、ほかの方はしないと思いますが、私のM/Bの場合x1用が正解なのに画像だけ適当に見てx2用を最初買ってしまいお蔵入り・・・文字はきちんと読まないとダメですね。きっと私だけですが両方の画像を反省の意味も込めて貼っておきます。

This unit is solid, and weighs a bit more than your common wall plug charger due to its vastly increased power supply compared to an inexpensive charger. This is a GaN charger, and has protection against over charging, over voltage, and over heating. The unit has a fold out plug-in so that when folded in it does not snag on pants pockets, handbags, etc., and provides a secure hold when used... does not fall out of the wall socket. It comes with a 6 1/2 foot USB C to USB C cable as well. This item came well packaged, and could easily survive any shipping hazards. I tried it with several devices, and those which had fast charging capability did indeed charge rapidly compared to standard chargers. I would recommend this charger to anyone looking for a high quality charger to use with multiple phones, tablets, etc., while still having a small enough form to be easily carried when on the go. USB C has become the standard interface for so many things and if you look closely, there are so many connectors in the plug and socket. USB 3.1 has extra connectors as well, allowing faster data throughput whilst still being compatible with USB A.
This connector has the noticeably high data throughput in tests with image and video transfer whilst still allowing you to do the more mundane chores like charge things up.
The outer casing is metal which, apart from making it more rugged, appears to be a requirement for the high data transfer rates that the new standards need.
These connectors and rugged and get the job done.

, this is purely a convenience factory for me, as I was finding it constantly awkward to be swapping flash drives from the ports on the rear (there are plenty, they're just more awkward to access than the front ports with how I have my desk. I didn't particular need speed but I did need convenience, and it's so much neater with this being rigid and not having yet another dangling wire like some of the other C based docks. The anodised aluminium finish matches my mini pc exactly too, feels very swish!
